Privacy Policy

Short version: no accounts, no email sign-up, nothing to buy. Scores are saved without your name unless you choose to put a name on a leaderboard. Google Analytics counts visits.

Saved on your device only

The site uses your browser's local storage (not sent to us) to remember:

  • a random player ID, so the site can tell your games apart on your own device;
  • a name, only if you type one (for share links and the leaderboard);
  • your best scores, recent games and daily puzzle progress;
  • whether sound is on.

Clear this any time by clearing site data for notagame.fun in your browser.

Sent to our server

  • Scores. When you finish some games, the game name, your score and the time are saved so the site can show "you beat X% of players". No name, player ID or device details are attached. Only recent scores are kept.
  • Leaderboard (Chain only). If you choose to post a score, the name you enter and your score are shown publicly, so don't use your full real name. Offensive names are removed when reported; email us to have any entry removed.
  • Spam protection. To stop flooding, the server keeps a one-way hash of your IP address network for up to 30 seconds per request, and old entries are cleared out regularly. It is never stored with your scores.

Share links

A link you share contains the game, your score and, if you set one, your name. Anyone with the link can see them.

Google Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which games people play. It sets cookies and collects things like pages viewed, game events (start, finish), device and browser type, and approximate location (city or country). Google processes this under its own privacy policy. You can block it with an ad blocker or Google's opt-out add-on; the games still work.

Hosting

The site runs on Cloudflare, which handles every request (including your IP address) to deliver pages and block attacks, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Things we don't do

  • No accounts, passwords, email or phone numbers.
  • No selling or renting of data.
  • No ads at the moment. If that changes, this page will say so first.

Children

The games are for a general audience and don't ask for personal details. If you think a child has posted their real name on a leaderboard, email us and it will be removed.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, or ask for a leaderboard entry to be deleted, by emailing hello@notagame.fun. Because scores are stored without names, we usually can't link them back to you.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too.
